For the last year’s, we have experienced the continuous growth of the motorcycle industry and currently there are around 3 million motorcycle running in the major and minor Philippine road system.
Unfortunately our current road system failed to cope with the tremendous growth of our transportation sector coupled with the inability of the road user’s to use the road system with respect with one another.
As a result, road accidents became part of our daily undertaking…We got accidents involving motorcycles in our breakfast, lunch…Dinner…and unfortunately as far as our midnight snack!
MDPPA recognize its social responsibility being one of the stake holders and therefore has launched a 3 prong safety program which started 2008.
Currently MDPPA has initiated different safety program such as:
- Poster Campaign
- Rider Sticker Campaign
- Safety Banner
- Club Safety Billboard
- Racers Billboard
- Bus Billboard
Other than this, MDPPA plans to create more awareness by initiating programs that would increase usage awareness…Thus, the first MDPPA Cup was conceptualized.
MDPPA Cup shall promote racing on a controlled environment and is a campaign that would discourage motorcyclist from racing on the streets; it will also be a venue for the motorcycle users to unleash their adrenalin rush by being competitive inside the track. MDPPA being a non-profit and non-government organization, aims to raise funds using this event for the promotion of road safety on a nationwide scale.
MDPPA will be held at the carmona racing circuit, carmona cavite on october 25, 2009 and is open to all motorcycle users and proffesional racers, the categories are as follows:
